Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the AWS database modernization for the Hospice business unit.

You will drive the migration from SQL Server 2016 on EC2 to AWS RDS, upgrade on-premise ETL/Reporting, and optimize costs while mentoring the Hospice SQL DBA team in cloud operations. The role emphasizes HITRUST/HIPAA compliance, monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch, and collaboration with the DevOps group to automate infrastructure using Terraform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database administration.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server version upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
• Strong hands-on experience with SSIS (ETL) and SSRS (reporting).
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, monitoring, Multi-AZ.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL and data migration tooling (AWS DMS, AWS Glue).
• Experience with database migration projects (on-premises or EC2 to RDS, and in-place EC2 upgrades).
• Strong backup/restore strategies and point-in-time recovery.

Responsabilités

• Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS.
• Migrate and maintain SSIS ETL and SSRS reports; consider AWS-native ETL options.
• Drive database cost optimization and resource right-sizing.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and best practices.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes using AWS Backup.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS infrastructure.
• Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance for all database systems.
• Support Hospice application team with database-related development needs.
• Explore future modernization with PostgreSQL/Aurora.
