Job summary

Fuze Health is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for Fuze Care Services to lead the AWS database modernization for the Hospice unit. You will migrate from SQL Server on EC2 to AWS RDS, upgrade versions, and re-platform ETL/reporting using SSIS/SSRS or cloud-native tools.

The role emphasizes cost optimization, monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch, HITRUST/compliance, and mentoring a Hospice DBA team. This is a full-time role with competitive benefits in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of database administration experience.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server 2016+ performance tuning, HA, and DR.
• Hands-on upgrades/migrations off SQL Server 2016 with testing.
• SSIS for ETL and SSRS for reporting – development and admin.
• Experience with AWS RDS SQL Server and multi-AZ setups.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL (DMS/Glue) or plan to modernize SSIS.
• Backup/restore strategies, PITR, cross-region replication.
• Monitoring with Datadog, CloudWatch; SQL DMV knowledge.
• Regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2) experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS.
• Upgrade SQL Server versions and validate compatibility.
• Assess and migrate SSIS ETL and SSRS reports to AWS-native or updated SQL Server.
• Drive database cost optimization and licensing reduction.
• Mentor Hospice SQL DBA team on cloud database operations.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring and DR baselines.
• Collaborate with DevOps on infrastructure automation (Terraform).
• Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance across database systems.
