Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the AWS database modernization for hospice services across the U.S. You will drive SQL Server upgrades, AWS RDS migration, and modernization of SSIS/SSRS, while optimizing costs and mentoring the Hospice DBA team.

You will also implement cloud-native monitoring, automated backup/DR, and collaborate with DevOps using Terraform, ensuring HITRUST/HIPAA-aligned security and compliance throughout.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database administration.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, HA and DR.
• Hands-on with SQL Server upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
• Strong SSIS and SSRS experience.
• AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, monitoring, with Multi-AZ.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL tools (DMS, Glue) or planning SSIS modernization.
• Database migration projects across on-premises/EC2 to RDS.
• Backup/restore strategies and cross-region replication.
• Monitoring with Datadog, CloudWatch, DMVs.
• Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2).

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2: migrate to AWS RDS or upgrade off 2016.
• Migrate and maintain SSIS ETL and SSRS reports to AWS-native or upgraded SQL Server.
• Drive database cost optimization: right-sizing, RI options, storage tiers.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and RDS management.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring and performance baselines with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore and disaster recovery processes on AWS.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS infrastructure.
• Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance across database systems.
