Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Electrical Design - Responsible Engineer to lead analog and digital hardware design for rocket engine avionics in the Greater Seattle Area. You will own end-to-end development from concept through testing and release, applying systems engineering and DFx principles.

You will mentor engineers, manage schedules, and tackle root-cause analyses for high-reliability, safety-critical hardware in a fast-paced environment focused on spaceflight missions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 7 years total experience, 5+ years in hardware development.
• Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience.
• Hands-on analog and digital circuit design, analysis, test and debugging.
• Expertise with op-amp circuits for instrumentation measurements.
• Knowledge of signal integrity, power conversion, grounding, and board layout principles.
• Experience with motor drive circuits is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Electrical design of analog instrumentation circuits to measure environmental and combustion conditions of rocket engines.
• Electrical design of actuator circuits for solenoids or electromechanical Servo systems.
• Interpret systems engineering and quality requirements for electrical product development.
• Develop circuits, boards, and rugged electronics across the product lifecycle from concept to production release.
• Support risk analyses (FMECA), design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx), and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
• Manage design schedules of avionics subsystems and present program status and issues.
• Identify root cause failure modes using fault tree and fishbone methodologies.
