Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the Greater Seattle area is seeking a Level 3 Electrical Engineer to design avionics hardware for crew systems, from concept through qualification and flight, working with systems, mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust interfaces.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab bring-up, board design, verification, and production support for high‑reliability electronics critical to safe human spaceflight.

Qualifications

• B.S. in electrical engineering or related field; equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in high-reliability electronics including board- and/or box-level design through integration and test.
• Release-quality artifacts under configuration control (schematics, BoMs, drawings, test procedures/reports).
• Hands-on lab bring-up and debugging with common test equipment.
• Proficiency with ECAD/analysis tools and signal grounding/EMC fundamentals.
• Strong cross-functional communication with systems, mechanical, software and quality.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Develop avionics hardware (boards and integrated assemblies) from concept to production release.
• Design analog and digital boards interfacing with avionics systems and actuators.
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams throughout design and verification.
• Support risk analyses (FMECA), design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx), and root-cause analysis.
