Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our Government Services team in a hybrid role. You will work on PLC/HMI and SIS projects, design and document control systems, and travel to client sites as needed.

The role requires US citizenship, the ability to obtain security clearance, an ABET-accredited BS in engineering (MS preferred), and 10+ years in automation.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• ABET-accredited BS in engineering; MS preferred.
• 10+ years in instrumentation and controls or automation engineering.
• Experience interfacing with craft for troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Experience designing, programming, documenting, and testing automated machinery or processes in industrial facilities.
• Experience with industrial communication design (Ethernet IP; familiarity with Modbus/Profibus).
• Experience producing P&IDs, control system narratives, I/O lists, C&E or logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, FAT procedures, and software docs.

Responsibilities

• Work on project teams with other discipline engineers on PLC-based control systems and SIS.
• Prepare specs and design media for software, instrumentation, and control platforms.
• Mentor and train in Automation Lab to expand knowledge in automation/control systems.
• Develop career via Communities of Practice and peer learning.
• Travel to client offices and project sites as required.
