Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join a multi-disciplined project team in a hybrid work arrangement. You will design PLC-based control systems, SIS, and other industrial controllers, while preparing specifications and design media for procurement and implementation of systems.

Essential qualifications include a BS in engineering (ABET), 10+ years in instrumentation and controls, and the ability to obtain US government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program; MS degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in instrumentation and controls or automation and control systems engineering.
• Experience producing P&IDs, Control System Narratives, I/O Lists, and related documentation.

Responsibilities

• Work on project teams to design PLC-based control systems, SIS, and other industrial control platforms.
• Prepare specifications and design media for procurement and implementation of software, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Mentor colleagues through training sessions and the Automation Lab to grow Automation/Control Systems knowledge.
• Engage in peer learning through S&L's Communities of Practice and collaborative networks.
• Travel to client offices and project sites as required.
