Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a seasoned Instrumentation and Controls Engineer for a hybrid role in the United States. You will work on PLC/SIS projects, design and specify software and instrumentation, and grow through our Automation Lab and Communities of Practice, traveling to client sites as needed.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in I&C or automation, ABET-accredited BS (MS preferred), and the ability to obtain US government security clearance.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen required; dual citizenship not qualified.
• ABET-accredited BS in engineering; MS preferred.
• 12+ years in instrumentation and controls or automation.
• Experience interfacing with craft for troubleshooting.
• Experience designing, programming, documenting, and testing automated machinery or processes at industrial facilities.
• Industrial communication design experience (Ethernet IP preferred).
• Producing P&IDs, control narratives, I/O lists, logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, FAT procedures, and software docs.

Responsibilities

• Work on PLC-based control systems and SIS platforms.
• Prepare specs and design media for software, instrumentation and control systems.
• Expand knowledge via Automation Lab, communities of practice, and peer learning.
• Travel to client offices and project sites as required.
