Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal seeks a Senior Associate to join the Corporate Transactions Group (CTG) and drive financial due diligence for diverse deals. You will assess earnings quality, build client-ready analyses, and support deal teams across multiple industries in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers mentorship from senior leaders, opportunities for rapid growth, and exposure to high-impact transactions. Base salary starts at $130,000 annually with a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of financial accounting due diligence experience or equivalent at a top accounting firm.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting and/or related major.
• CPA or the equivalent of a CPA.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting and purchase accounting.
• High proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and database skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to articulate to senior members of target management, client representatives and colleagues.
• Proficient in basic project management skills.
• Flexibility to work as both a team member in a collaborative setting and as an individual contributor.
• Ability to travel for projects and A&M specific needs as necessary.
• Ability to thrive and be effective in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with core financial due diligence, helping to identify key risks and potential deal breakers, assess the strengths and weaknesses of the business against industry benchmarks, and aid in the evaluation of the potential transaction in the context of their clients’ investment strategy.
• Analyze detailed financial statement information including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and key operational data. Synthesize and convert the data into meaningful information used to drive discussions with target management and observations.
• Assess the quality of the target company’s reported earnings, net assets and cash flows.
• Prepare deal-oriented reports and presentations highlighting findings for clients and support valuation discussions.
• Participate in meetings and conference calls with target company management and client personnel; serve as a secondary point of contact for day-to-day execution matters.
• Build and maintain client relationships and support business development opportunities.
• Mentor CTG associates and analysts and engage in training initiatives.
• Coordinate with other A&M service groups during engagements and delegate work to team members.
• Review and develop associates and analysts based on work performed.
