Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. seeks a Senior Archaeologist to lead cultural resource investigations across multiple states, including TX, LA, AZ, FL, MI, NM, NC, OR, PA, UT, TN, WI and GA.

The role requires conducting Phase I–III surveys, supporting permitting and compliance, and providing primary report authorship within CRM. Ideal candidates have 8+ years CRM experience, strong writing skills, and the ability to travel up to 30% and work independently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in archaeology or related field (required).
• 8+ years of CRM experience (required).
• Experience with primary report authorship in CRM; quality control of field documents. (required)
• Experience conducting Phase I–III surveys for linear or large projects. (required)
• Ability to meet Secretary of the Interior's standards (36 CFR Part 61). (required)
• Experience preparing proposals for private/public sectors. (required)
• Ability to work 40+ hours/week; travel as needed. (required)
• Texas Antiquities Permit as PI (required). (required)

Responsibilities

• Identify cultural resources to support environmental permitting for infrastructure projects.
• Prepare NEPA documents and environmental resource reports.
• Provide primary report authorship and QC for CRM documents and site reports.
• Coordinate with state and federal resource agencies on historic resources.
• Handle data management and post-field assessment curation.
• Conduct archaeological site inspections and deep testing.
• Support business development and client engagement.
• Prepare technical documents and environmental permit applications.
• Fieldwork up to 30%, overnight travel up to 30%.
