Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Archaeologist to support Phase I-III cultural resource surveys across multiple offices and states, including Austin, Dallas, Houston, Tallahassee, and beyond.

The role involves conducting surveys, supporting permitting, and ensuring compliance for infrastructure projects. Ideal candidates have 8+ years CRM experience, strong reporting skills, and the ability to work independently with travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a related field.
• Master's Degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a related field (preferred).
• Ability to meet the Secretary of the Interior's standards, 36 CFR, Part 61.
• At least 8 years of experience in CRM (required).
• Experience with primary report authorship in CRM context (QC).
• Experience conducting Phase I, II, and III surveys for linear/large projects.
• Proposal writing experience for private/public clients (required).
• Ability to work independently 40+ hours per week (required).
• Texas Antiquities Permit as Principal Investigator (required).
• Excellent writing and communication skills (required).
• Health & Safety training may be required; valid U.S. driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Identifying cultural resources to support environmental permitting of infrastructure projects.
• Preparing NEPA environmental documents including reports, EA, and EIS.
• Providing primary report authorship in a CRM context for QA of field documents, site forms and reports.
• Coordinating with state and Federal resource agencies related to historic resources.
• Data management and curation post field assessment.
• Conducting archaeological site inspections and monitoring, including deep testing.
• Business development.
• Curating finds and documents as required, and
• Preparing a variety of technical documents and environmental permit applications.
• Fieldwork: Up to 30%; Overnight travel: Up to 30%.
