Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Archaeologist to support multiple Texas offices (Austin, Dallas, Houston) and other U.S. locations. You will perform Phase I–III surveys, contribute to environmental permitting, and assist with CRM reports in a dynamic, multidisciplinary firm with national reach.

The role emphasizes independent fieldwork, strong writing, and coordination with state and Federal agencies. Travel and field supervision are expected as part of project leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years CRM experience.
• Primary report authorship in CRM context with QC review of field documents, site forms and reports.
• Experience conducting Phase I, II, and III surveys for linear corridor and large projects.
• Solid understanding of Texas Antiquities Code, National Historic Preservation Act and NEPA compliance.
• Ability to work independently for 40+ hours per week, and travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Identifying cultural resources to support environmental permitting of infrastructure projects.
• Preparing NEPA documents including Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements.
• Providing primary report authorship in a CRM context for QA/QC review of field documents and reports.
• Coordinating with state and Federal resource agencies related to historic resources.
• Data management and curation post field assessment.
• Conducting archaeological site inspections and monitoring, including deep testing.
• Business development and client engagement.
• Preparing a variety of technical documents and environmental permit applications.
• Fieldwork up to 30% and overnight travel up to 30%.
