Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Archaeologist to join our offices in multiple locations including Austin, Dallas, Houston and other states.

The role involves conducting Phase I, II, and III cultural resource surveys to support environmental permitting and compliance on infrastructure projects. Preferred candidates will have extensive CRM experience, strong report authorship and quality control skills, and the ability to travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in archaeology/anthropology is required.
• Master's degree in archaeology/anthropology is preferred.
• Ability to meet the Secretary of the Interior's standards, 36 CFR Part 61, is required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Cultural Resource Management (CRM) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Identifying cultural resources to support the environmental permitting of infrastructure projects.
• Preparing NEPA documents including Environmental Assessments (EA) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS).
• Providing primary report authorship in a CRM context for quality control review of field documents, site forms and reports.
• Coordinating with state and Federal resource agencies related to historic resources.
• Data management and curation post field assessment.
• Conducting archaeological site inspections and monitoring, including deep testing.
• Preparing a variety of technical documents and environmental permit applications.
