Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first company reinventing consumer credit with data-driven risk and analytics. As a Senior Analyst (L5), you will own the full analytical lifecycle—from questions to business decisions—partnering with ML, Product, Engineering, and Compliance to shape strategy across geographies.

You will develop insights into risk, growth, and performance, mentor junior analysts, and translate complex data into clear actions while operating across technical and non-technical teams.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of analytically-driven experience in consumer lending, credit, or fintech.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Deep expertise in data mining, data visualization, and statistical modeling.
• Experience applying machine learning to business or risk management problems.

Responsibilities

• Optimize End-to-End Strategy: derive insights and optimize business, risk, or growth strategies across products and geographies.
• Manage Macro & Market Trends: monitor portfolio performance and macro trends; adjust strategies to balance risk and growth.
• Model & Capability Building: design and interpret metrics for scalable risk, fraud, or growth models.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: work with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulatory needs into analytics.
• Oversee Frameworks & Launches: develop analytical frameworks and align new product launches with risk appetite and regulations.
• External & Strategic Alignment: engage with merchants, vendors, and partners to align practices and strengthen relationships.
• AI Leverage & Mentorship: create AI-assisted workflows and mentor junior analysts on technical craft.
