Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first fintech redefining credit with transparent, data-driven decisions. As a Senior Analyst (L5), you will own the full analytical lifecycle—from initial question to final business decision—working with Product, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering to shape risk, growth, and profitability.

You will build scalable metrics with ML partners, mentor junior analysts, and translate regulatory and market insights into actionable strategies for multiple geographies.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of analytically-driven experience in the consumer lending, credit, or fintech industry.
• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Deep expertise in data mining, data visualization, and statistical modeling, with experience applying machine learning techniques to business or risk management problems.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives that bridge Product, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering to align analytical strategies with business objectives.
• Strong understanding of consumer lending regulations, regional market dynamics, and the broader economic landscape influencing policy and growth.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory and economic insights into actionable strategies.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across technical and non-technical functions.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights and optimize business, risk, or growth strategies across products and geographies.
• Monitor portfolio performance and exogenous macroeconomic trends; adjust analytic and operational strategies to mitigate risk and balance growth.
• Design, build, and interpret metrics for scalable risk, fraud, or growth models in collaboration with Engineering and ML teams.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance to interpret evolving regulatory and market requirements, translating them into analytical policy and product design.
• Oversee development and execution of analytical frameworks; align new product launches with risk appetite and regulatory constraints.
• Engage with external stakeholders including merchants, vendors, and partners to align practices and strengthen relationships.
• Build repeatable AI-assisted workflows and mentor junior analysts on technical craft and domain nuances.
