Job summary

Affirm, a remote-first fintech, seeks a Senior Analyst (L5) to own the analytical lifecycle—from questions to decisions. You will translate regulatory, economic, and ML insights into strategies, influencing both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.

You will work with teams across ML, Product, Engineering, and Compliance to optimize approvals, profitability, and risk while supporting international growth and scalable data infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in an analytically-driven role within consumer lending or fintech.
• Degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, CS, Engineering, Economics).
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Experience applying ML techniques to business or risk problems.
• Proven cross-functional initiative leadership and stakeholder influence.

Responsibilities

• Derive and optimize business, risk, or growth strategies using advanced data analytics.
• Monitor macro & market trends; adjust analytics and operations to balance risk and growth.
• Partner with Engineering and ML teams to design and interpret performance metrics.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, Compliance to translate regulatory requirements into analytics.
• Oversee analytical frameworks and support new product launches and market entries.
• Engage with merchants, vendors, and partners to align practices and strengthen relationships.
• Mentor junior analysts on technical craft and domain nuances.
