Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to shape the data and AI foundation for our Marketing Data and Analytics team. You will architect Databricks pipelines, Gold Layer tables, and semantic models to power segmentation, automation, and analytics at scale.

You will lead complex data initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive AI-enabled solutions while ensuring data quality and reliability across cross-functional teams in a flexible remote/setup.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or AI engineering.
• Expert-level Python and SQL, with strong data modeling.
• Deep experience with data warehouse and lakehouse architectures, ETL/ELT.
• Experience building semantic layers and AI-ready documentation.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for MDA's data and AI foundation.
• Architect and own marketing data infrastructure, pipelines, and core data models.
• Design semantic layers, data dictionaries, and documentation for self-serve BI.
• Lead cross-team initiatives end to end, ensuring data quality and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and analysts and drive AI-enabled data products.
