Job summary

Samsara is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to shape the data foundation powering AI and analytics. You will architect core Databricks pipelines, Gold Layer tables, and semantic models, delivering trusted data for segmentation, targeting, and automation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or AI engineering.
• Expert-level Python and SQL, with strong data modeling and DBT experience.
• Deep experience with data warehouses/lakehouses, ETL/ELT, and modern data stack including Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for MDA’s data/AI foundation.
• Architect and own data infrastructure: ETL/ELT pipelines, Databricks Gold Layer tables, data models.
• Design semantic layers and data dictionaries for self-serve BI and AI ingestion.
• Translate business questions into scalable data solutions and drive autonomous data products.
• Lead cross-team data initiatives end-to-end and ensure data quality and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and analysts, raise engineering quality and code review standards.
• Drive AI use to solve high-impact problems with AI-enabled data products.
• Automate manual workflows with AI across Marketing and GTM teams.
