Job summary
Samsara is hiring for a senior data/AI engineer to architect and guide the data foundation powering marketing and sales analytics. You will build Databricks pipelines, semantic models, and robust data products, collaborating with BI and Data Science teams to deliver scalable AI-enabled solutions.
Ideal candidates have 8+ years in data or AI engineering, expert Python/SQL, Databricks experience, and a track record of leading cross-functional data initiatives; remote-friendly with hybrid
Qualifications
- 8+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or AI engineering with hands-on data work.
- Expert-level Python and SQL with strong data modeling and DBT experience.
- Experience with data warehouse/lakehouse architectures and modern data stack tools.
Responsibilities
- Define strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for data and AI foundation.
- Architect and own data infrastructure: ETL/ELT, Databricks Gold Layer, and core models.
- Design semantic layers, data dictionaries, and AI-enabled BI workflows.
- Translate business questions into scalable data solutions and lead cross-team initiatives.
- Mentor engineers and analysts; review AI-generated outputs for production readiness.
