Job summary

Samsara is seeking a seasoned Data/AI Engineer to shape the data foundation powering AI initiatives across Marketing, Sales and Product. You will architect Databricks pipelines, Gold Layer Tables, and semantic models to enable self-serve analytics and trusted insights.

You will lead cross-functional data initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive AI-enabled data products while ensuring high data quality and governance. A remote-friendly role supporting US teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data/analytics/AI engineering experience.
• Expert Python and SQL with data modeling and DBT.
• Experience with data warehouses/lakehouses and ETL/ELT.
• Experience building AI agents or LLM systems in production.
• Ability to lead complex, cross-team data initiatives.
• Experience supporting Marketing, Sales, or Product teams.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for MDA data/AI foundation.
• Architect and own data infra: pipelines, Gold Layer, core models.
• Design semantic layers and data dictionaries for AI ingestion.
• Translate business questions into scalable data solutions autonomously.
• Lead end-to-end data initiatives and manage inter-team risk.
• Mentor engineers/analysts and raise engineering quality.
• Drive AI-driven data products and agent integrations with reliability.
• Automate manual workflows with AI across Marketing and GTM teams.
• Deliver high-quality Python/SQL, review AI outputs before production.
• Embed Samsara’s principles: customer focus, long-term thinking, growth, inclusion.
