Job summary

Axion is seeking a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to lead backend systems, data processing workflows, and scalable, AI-powered architectures. You will shape APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure while improving reliability and observability.

You’ll collaborate with product and customer-facing teams to translate business needs into clear technical direction and help scale the company’s technical strategy.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including building and operating production backend or data-intensive systems.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
• Experience designing distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, and reliable data-processing services.
• Experience deploying and operating containerized applications on a major cloud platform.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve scalable AI powered systems that move, transform, and enrich data across products.
• Partner with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Own the reliability and delivery of cloud-native services, including deployment, observability, scalability, and production support.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-team technical initiatives from architecture through production.
