Job summary

Axion is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and scale agentic systems powering its AI-driven quality platform. You will own decisions on how agents reason, act, and connect with enterprise data, collaborating with Engineering and Product leadership.

The role centers on data-heavy workflows where outcomes can impact recalls or product redesigns. The ideal candidate thrives in early-stage environments, delivering complex, data-intensive systems with reliable non-deterministic behavior

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on focus on building agentic systems (LLM orchestration, tool/function calling, multi-step and multi-agent reasoning, retrieval and context engineering).
• Experience designing and owning complex distributed systems, ideally in data-intensive B2B SaaS environments.
• Hands-on familiarity with modern agentic stack and evaluation/observability practices for non-deterministic, LLM-driven systems.
• Experience turning messy real-world data into model-reasonable inputs.
• Proven track record of technical mentorship.
• Strong Data First philosophy and ability to act in ambiguous, fast-moving settings.

Responsibilities

• Own technical architecture for our agentic systems—orchestration, tool use, memory, retrieval, evaluation, observability, and guardrails for noisy data.
• Build and harden the reasoning layer and infrastructure from data ingestion to root-cause insights at scale.
• Establish rigorous evaluation/testing for non-deterministic systems and measure agent performance against ground truth.
• Partner with Engineering and Product to shape the technical vision and roadmap for the agent platform.
• Raise engineering standards through code review and design docs.
• Mentor engineers on agentic patterns and system design.
