Job summary

Axion is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead our agile backend teams. You’ll design and build scalable agentic systems, backend services, and data-processing workflows that convert complex, unstructured data into reliable outputs.

You’ll shape the architecture of APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and LLM-powered systems, while improving reliability, observability, and performance. Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to translate business needs into

Qualifications

8+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts
Experience designing distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, and reliable data-processing services
Experience deploying and operating containerized applications on a major cloud platform

Responsibilities

Design and evolve scalable AI powered systems that move, transform, and enrich data across products
Partner with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
Own the reliability and delivery of cloud-native services, including deployment, observability, scalability, and production support
Mentor engineers and lead cross-team technical initiatives from architecture through production
