Job summary

Axion is seeking a Backend Engineer to build and scale production data ingestion systems that bring customer data into the Axion platform. You will own architectural direction and have a direct product impact.

The role requires experience with early-stage companies, building data-intensive backend systems, and integrating data from dozens of enterprise systems with varying formats. You will collaborate with Engineering and Product leadership on ingestion workflows and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Deep fluency in Python.
• Strong cloud architecture experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
• Demonstrated depth with Postgres and relational data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Own technical architecture for the data ingestion system, pipelines, mapping, validation, transformation, and orchestration.
• Build and harden backend services and cloud infrastructure to onboarding new manufacturers efficiently.
• Address integration challenges across enterprise systems with inconsistent schemas and data formats.
• Establish data quality, lineage, monitoring, and alerting for pipelines.
