Job summary

Axion is hiring a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to lead backend teams. You will design scalable, AI-powered data pipelines, shape APIs and cloud infrastructure, and drive reliable production services.

You’ll mentor engineers and steer architecture decisions as we scale. You’ll work with product and customer-facing teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions, with a strong emphasis on performance, observability, and ownership.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including building and operating production backend or data-intensive systems.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
• Experience designing distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, and reliable data-processing services.
• Experience deploying and operating containerized applications on a major cloud platform.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve scalable AI powered systems that move, transform, and enrich data across products.
• Partner with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Own the reliability and delivery of cloud-native services, including deployment, observability, scalability, and production support.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-team technical initiatives from architecture through production.
