Job summary

RTX seeks a principal mechanical design engineer in Tucson, AZ to support the Precision Control Actuation System (PCAS) organization. You will develop and verify control actuation systems, participate in IPTs, and drive mechanical design across programs.

Requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, with knowledge of flight control systems, MATLAB/Simulink, and EVPM concepts. This onsite role offers strong engineering growth and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an advance degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
• Experience in mechanical mechanism design OR flight control systems for aerospace applications

Responsibilities

• Provide various mechanical engineering support as needs of programs fluctuate, including detailed mechanical design, earned value management, test design and execution, and systems engineering.
• Flex responsibilities based on current needs and skill sets within the organization and project teams.
• Operate autonomously with minimal oversight, may manage moderate-size projects, delegate work, and influence policies and procedures regarding the control mechanism development domain.
