Job summary

The Standard in Farmington, CT is seeking an experienced account manager to serve key group policyholders and producers, building strong relationships through on-site visits, proactive communication, and skilled negotiation to renew contracts and improve plan designs.

In this role you’ll partner with sales and underwriting, manage accounts over 2,500 lives, and lead enrollment efforts while traveling within the territory to meet clients and brokers as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience: 5+ years of group insurance account management in 2,500+ lives.
• Licensing: Life and Disability insurance license for all states in territory.
• Auto: Personal automobile with adequate insurance and safe driving record.
• Travel: Ability to travel within territory for client and broker meetings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain primary relationships with key policyholders and producers through frequent on-site visits, professional negotiation, responsive communication, problem resolution and meeting customer expectations.
• Work with clients to understand concerns and needs and act as liaison between home office and customers to initiate plan improvements and resolve administrative inconsistencies.
• Prior to renewal, organize face-to-face visits to present claims analyses and review contract adequacy to recommend coverage or changes, managing the amendment process.
• Coordinate renewal activity with sales and underwriting to present renewals with customized strategy to retain the account.
• Identify and promote sale of additional lines of coverage or plan improvements on assigned block of business.
