Job summary

The University of Virginia is seeking an experienced patient-focused service representative to manage scheduling, registration, and patient communications across care teams. You will coordinate multi-specialty appointments, retrieve records, and ensure patients are seen with the right provider and the right information.

You will answer calls, verify insurance details, collect payments, and prepare follow-up communications.

Qualifications

• Experience with scheduling in clinical settings.
• Proficient use of EMR systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and privacy.
• Familiarity with insurance and demographic data entry.

Responsibilities

• Independently answers telephones, schedules, confirms appointments and maintains appointment schedules.
• Registers patients, takes payments and provides receipts.
• Completes requests for service and associated tasks following established timelines.
• Initiates contact with patient and family to ascertain scheduling preferences prior to finalizing appointment.
• Coordinate appointments and work with Pre Arrival Unit to ensure authorization in place for in-network entities.
