Job summary

The University of Virginia is seeking an Access Associate to coordinate patient scheduling and registrations across multiple departments. The role involves engaging patients, families and providers, handling scheduling, registration, and tracking in the EMR to ensure timely care with the right records.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance data, collecting payments, and supporting process improvement while upholding privacy and high-quality customer service in both phone and in-person

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• 2 years relevant experience required.
• Access Associate cross-trained in multiple specialties.

Responsibilities

• Schedule multi-specialty and multidisciplinary patient appointments.
• Register patients, take payments, and provide receipts.
• Abstract health data into EMR and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate with clinics and care teams to ensure patient experience.
• Provide excellent customer service in person and by phone.
