Job summary

K Group Companies is hiring a Field Service Technician Level II in Detroit. The role builds on Level 1 duties and adds leadership, advanced configuration, and customer training across nurse call, access control, and video surveillance systems.

You will ensure high-quality installations, manage tickets, and mentor junior installers while coordinating with project staff and customers. A strong electrical and IT foundation is essential, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years with a previous construction trade.
• Advanced knowledge of electricity (high and/or low voltage).
• Hands-on field experience from previous work experience.
• Basic telecommunication knowledge (TCP/IP, general networking, computers, VoIP, etc.).
• Ability to identify and use common low voltage cabling.
• Working knowledge of basic IT networking, configurations and IP addressing.
• Ability to read architectural drawings.
• Team management/supervisor experience.
• Previous experience completing projects within scope.
• Previous experience with service ticketing processes.
• Any previous knowledge in fire, CCTV, intrusion, emergency nurse call systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must have valid US Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Execute all Level 1 installer roles and responsibilities, following our documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational skills in handling project and service tickets with prompt updates.
• Understand project scopes and service expectations; take accountability for tasks.
• Lead the team by delegating tasks and fostering collaboration.
• Mentor Level 1 installers and gather feedback for improvement.
• Maintain communication with Project Delivery Coordinators, Project Managers, and customers.
• Work with nurse call, card access, and video surveillance systems.
• Pursue ongoing leadership and communication development.
• Perform FAT tests of products before installation.
• Configure and commission systems to deliver reliable solutions.
• Adopt additional duties as needed.
