Job summary

K Group Companies is seeking a Field Service Technician Level II in Grand Rapids, MI to lead installation teams, configure and program devices, and oversee system commissioning for nurse call, access, and video surveillance projects. You will mentor Level I installers, coordinate with project staff, and ensure high-quality service delivery while expanding leadership and communication skills.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in construction trades, strong electrical and networking knowledge, and

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years with a previous construction trade.
Advanced knowledge of electricity (high and/or low voltage).
Hands-on/field experience from previous work experience.
Basic telecommunication knowledge (TCP/IP, general networking, computers, VoIP, etc.).
Ability to identify and use common low voltage cabling.
Working knowledge of basic IT networking, configurations and IP addressing.
Ability to read architectural drawings.
Team management/supervisor experience.
Experience completing projects within scope and service ticketing processes.
1+ year knowledge in fire, CCTV, intrusion, emergency nurse call systems.
Excellent communication skills.
Must have valid US Driver's license.

Responsibilities

Execute all Level I installer roles and responsibilities following documentation.
Demonstrate organizational skills in handling project/service tickets with prompt updates.
Understand project scopes and service expectations; take accountability for tasks.
Lead by delegating tasks within the team and foster growth and productivity.
Mentor Level 1 installers and seek feedback for improvement.
Maintain communication with Project Delivery Coordinators, Project Managers, and customers as needed.
Showcase expertise with nurse call, card access, and video surveillance products.
Pursue professional development, focusing on leadership and communication skills.
Perform FAT tests of products before installation.
Configure and commission systems to deliver reliable, fully operational solutions.
Willingly take on additional duties as required by operations.
