Job summary

Construction Materials Testing seeks a seller-doer engineer with a PE license to cultivate clients and deliver technically sound testing programs. You’ll balance business development with engineering oversight, sealing reports, and leading field teams.

You’ll travel to client offices and sites in your market, develop proposals, price work, and represent the company at meetings, while earning base salary plus revenue share tied to the clients you develop.

Qualifications

• PE license required or able to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• At least 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and refusing unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients — general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms — for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, resolve failures, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the lab on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
