Construction Material Testing seeks seller-doer engineers who are comfortable pitching testing programs in a contractor's office and reviewing compaction or geotechnical letters. You balance a business development target with a technical workload, maintaining relationships while stamping reports.

The role requires a valid PE license and 6+ years in testing/geotechnical fields, with a proven ability to price, negotiate, and win work.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Proven track record of bringing in work or credible plan to win business; comfortable pricing and negotiating.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review field and laboratory data, seal reports and letters, and direct technicians and inspectors.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
• Coordinate with the Sugar Land laboratory and manage testing schedules; travel to client offices and jobsites as required.
