Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking seller-doer engineers who balance business development with technical workload. You will cultivate a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, geotechnical services, and special inspection while reviewing data and sealing reports.

A valid PE license, 6+ years in the field, and a proven ability to win work are required.

Qualifications

Active PE license in the posting state or able to obtain by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibilities.
Proven ability to bring in work or a credible plan to win market opportunities.
Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms and convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review data, seal reports and letters.
Direct technicians and inspectors, coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
