Job summary

Construction Material Testing in the United States seeks a licensed Professional Engineer to drive client development and engineering execution. You will manage the full cycle from selling proposals to sealing geotechnical reports, while coordinating field staff and lab work.

The role combines business development with technical workload, offering base salary and a revenue share based on client development. Travel to client offices and jobsites is expected as dispatched from headquarters.

Qualifications

Active PE license in the state of posting or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Proven track record of bringing in work or a credible plan for market development.
Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients (general contractors, owners, developers, design firms) for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms and convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, resolve issues, seal reports and letters.
Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in the market.
