Job summary

M.C. Dean, Building Intelligence®, seeks a Superintendent 1 to join the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit. You will oversee construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and budget adherence across federal, local, and commercial customers.

Coordinate subs, review design packages, manage material and labor planning, permits, and site safety. Occasional nights and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; requires the ability to obtain a public trust.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED with 10+ Years of Experience
• Experience in the Security Industry
• At least two (2) years' experience managing security projects as a Project Manager, Superintendent, or Project Foreman
• Experience installing conduit and wiring systems
• Experience with head end programming and testing of Access Control and Video Management Systems
• Common knowledge of basic Network Infrastructure
• Experience working with management systems such as scheduling, job cost reports, estimating, safety, documentation requirements, and quality control.
• Experience overseeing and approving monthly job cost updates, productivity reports, and quarterly cash flow projections Proficiency in the Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling method
• Must have a history of completing projects under the estimated hours
• Requires reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer
• Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends
• Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills.
• Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all phases of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and quality/safety standards.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, scheduling, site safety, permits, and stakeholder communication.
• Lead and solve problems to ensure seamless execution of construction activities and project delivery.
• Develop and implement safety plans, and maintain look-ahead schedules (12+ weeks).
• Review design documentation and perform constructability assessments from drawing packages.
• Perform B1 take-offs, manage material and labor planning, and update 4-week look ahead forecasts.
• Support logistics planning for personnel and equipment; track time/materials.
• Ensure permits, licenses, and inspections are identified and obtained before work.
• Manage crew activities, labor requirements, and overtime management.
• Engage in weekly resource allocation meetings and create resource-loaded schedules.
• Prepare project documentation per M.C. Dean standards (Change Orders, RFIs, Daily Reports).
• Collaborate with engineers to drive prefab processes and manage pre-fabrication per project schedule.
