Job summary

Comstock in Reston, VA is seeking a security officer to patrol the property hourly, control guest and vendor access, and enforce safety and rules across the plaza. The role includes coordinating with the marketing team for events and maintaining the plaza appearance, including a no-dogs policy and proper ban notices.

This position requires VA security officer certification, a valid driver's license, and a flexible schedule with after-hours and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Virginia Security Officer certification required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in customer service.
• Valid driver's license with no major violations.
• Flexibility to work after hours and weekends.
• Outgoing personality with ability to relate to diverse groups.
• Strong sense of urgency and integrity.
• Able to multitask and maintain attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Complete hourly patrol route of the property using the security system.
• Access control for guests, tenants and vendors.
• Ensure no property is being damaged.
• Conduct routine foot patrols in and around building.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Observe and report safety concerns.
• Issue banning notices to rule violators.
• Maintain files for ban notices and notify management as needed.
• Maintain plaza kiosks' appearance and enforce no dogs policy.
• Keep information updated and communicate to guests as needed.
• Report unknown work to management.
• Notify management if illegal parking occurs.
• Keep fire access areas clear for emergency vehicles.
• Close loading dock doors as needed.
• Report concerns to management.
• Assist Marketing before/during/after events at Reston and Loudoun Station.
• Manage valet at Reston Station and ensure plaza/ramps are clear.
• Ensure plaza marketing plan for special events is followed.
• Manage traffic entering the plaza and keep it moving.
