Job summary

Comstock Companies in Reston, VA seeks a Security Officer for ParkX Management to help ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, tenants, and guests. The role covers patrols, access control, policy enforcement, and proactive incident reporting.

You will support event activities, manage plaza operations, and coordinate with property teams to maintain security and order across the Reston and plaza areas.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required
• DCJS Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Minimum 1 year experience in customer-service related field
• Valid driver's license with clean record
• Ability to work after hours and weekends
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Sense of urgency and integrity
• Ability to multitask and stay detail-oriented

Responsibilities

• Complete hourly patrol route of the property using the security system
• Access control for guests, tenants and vendors
• Ensure no property is being damaged
• Conduct routine foot patrols in and around building
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Observation and reporting of safety
• Issue banning notices to rule violators
• Maintain file for ban notices and notify management when necessary
• Maintain the appearance of two plaza kiosks
• Enforce the no dogs on the plaza policy
• Keep updated information and communicate to guests as needed
• Report any unknown work at the property to management
• Notify Park X and property management for illegal parking
• Communicate that fire access areas must be kept accessible
• Close loading dock doors as needed
• Report concerns to management
• Assist Marketing team for events at Reston/Reston Station
• Manage the valet at Reston Station
• Ensure plaza marketing plan is followed for special events
• Manage traffic onto the plaza and keep it moving
