Job summary

Allied Universal in Illinois is seeking a part-time Security Desk Associate at a manufacturing site. You’ll work a fixed Tue 2:00 PM–10:00 PM shift with a six-month anchor commitment and the option to claim extra shifts via our scheduling platform, potentially increasing earnings toward a full-time schedule up to 40 hours weekly.

Tue: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and/or contractors by following site‑specific procedures and security‑related policies at the front desk.
• Monitor access to the facility, verify visitor credentials, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate visitor and delivery logs.
• Receive and direct phone calls, deliveries, and inquiries while maintaining a professional, courteous presence in a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Communicate observations, access concerns, and security‑related incidents to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
