Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced at our Shirley, NY location. This role offers a fixed anchor shift (Wed 08:00 AM - 02:00 PM) and the option to pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings.

You will provide customer service, patrol the site, monitor access, respond to incidents, and document activity for site leadership.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff per security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the healthcare location and surrounding areas.
• Monitor access points and direct visitors as required by site procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and escalate to site leadership when needed.
• Document observations and communicate findings to Allied Universal supervision.

Pay Rate:

$18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Wed 08:00 AM - 02:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the healthcare location, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or facility concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures and assist with directing individuals to appropriate areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
