Job summary

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access, and manage visitor logs.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and escalate when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas including entrances and perimeter locations.
• Document daily activities and access-control concerns per procedures.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to members, visitors, staff, and tenants by carrying out access‑control procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access, maintain visitor logs, and direct guests according to established building procedures.
• Respond to access‑related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned commercial property areas, including entrances, common spaces, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and access‑control concerns in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific reporting procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
