Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. is hiring a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will monitor entrances, greet customers, and work with leadership to reduce theft while upholding store standards and safety.

The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, effective communication, and a proactive attitude. Part-time shifts with benefits opportunities are available for eligible associates.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers
• Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships

Responsibilities

• Monitor entrance and high‑risk areas to reduce opportunities for theft and maintain safety
• Greet every customer with a warm smile and a confident, energetic greeting
• Identify and report theft incidents and suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty
• Provide training support on shortage reduction programs and processes
• Communicate theft prevention information during store rallies and with leadership
• Create a secure store environment and support store leadership in loss prevention goals
