Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in Colorado Springs, CO, seeks a Software Engineer to contribute to the C2BMC program. You will develop Java-based enterprise applications for the Regional Applications / Planner team, supporting mission-critical operations on-site.

The role requires a secret clearance, strong Java (and optionally C++) skills, and experience with Unix/Linux environments in an Agile setting. On-site work with no remote option is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 2 years experience; or Master’s with 0 years; or 6 years experience in lieu of degree
• Active Secret clearance at time of application
• Software Engineer for C2BMC program in Colorado Springs, CO
• Knowledge of coding standards, configuration management, and disciplined workflows
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a rapid-paced team environment
• Java/J2EE experience or other object‑oriented development; C++ desired
• Unix/Linux software development experience
• Use Cases and SysML diagrams familiarity
• Ability to troubleshoot and integrate software components within a larger system

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, code, maintain, debug, and configure enterprise software using Java/J2EE (and possibly C++)
• Provide analysis and technical support for systems software and complex problem resolution
• Work from requirements and SysML diagrams to develop/modify OS and mission applications
• Develop software for Unix/Linux environments with standard engineering practices
• Assist with benchmarking, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve problems and improve reliability
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software development lifecycle and processes
