Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in Colorado Springs, CO seeks a Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software across Java/J2EE, C++, and Linux-based systems. You will work on the C2BMC program within an Agile team, collaborating with systems engineering, test, cyber, and operations to deliver secure, reliable capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 5 years of experience; or Master’s with 3 years; or 9 years of experience as alternative.
• Active Secret security clearance required to start.
• Java/J2EE experience or other OO development; C++ also desired.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software in Java/J2EE and other OO technologies.
• Work with multiple teams to resolve problems and improve system resiliency.
• Perform analysis, testing, and integration of software products.
• Develop OS-level applications and services to support mission capabilities.
• Assist with design, coding, benchmarking, debugging, and documentation.
• Develop tools to automate operations and improve efficiency.
• Interface with systems engineering, integration, test, cyber, and operations teams.
• Support integration and test activities for new capabilities.
• Maintain currency with evolving technologies and program standards.
• Prepare technical documentation and participate in Agile ceremonies.
