Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in Colorado Springs seeks a Principal Software Engineer (26-422) to join the C2BMC Regional Applications team. Role supports the U.S. President, DoD and commanders with enterprise-scale software in a high-security environment.

On-site position with Secret clearance, 10% travel potential. Primary focus areas include UI, Enterprise Services, or System Architecture. Strong Java/J2EE skills and experience with Agile are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with 5 years of experience; or Master’s with 3 years; or 9 years relevant work experience as alternative.
• Active in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance required at start.
• Java/J2EE experience or other OO development (C++ desired).
• Experience with software engineering practices: standards, reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software in Java/J2EE for C2BMC Regional Applications.
• Provide specialized expertise across multiple systems and disciplines.
• Develop or modify OS-level applications and services for mission capabilities.
• Design, code, test, and implement tools to improve automation and maintainability.
• Interface with systems engineering, integration, testing, cyber, and operations.
