Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in Huntsville, AL seeks a Software Engineer (26-420) to design, develop, and maintain Java/J2EE software for Regional Applications in the C2BMC program. You will work in an Agile team to implement features and ensure mission readiness.

The role requires an active Secret clearance and on-site work with travel up to 10%. Preferred skills include Agile, DevOps practices, and experience with enterprise applications on Linux systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 2 years of experience; or Master’s with 1 year; or 6 years of experience as alternative.
• Active in-scope Government-issued Secret clearance at start time.
• Experience in Java/J2EE or OO languages; knowledge of C++ is a plus.
• Understanding of modern software practices: coding standards, automated testing, CI/CD, configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java/J2EE software for Regional Applications in C2BMC.
• Work in an Agile team to implement features and resolve complex issues.
• Translate Use Cases and SysML diagrams into robust software components.
• Follow software engineering practices and perform code reviews, testing, and CI/CD.
• Participate in full SDLC: analysis, design, implementation, integration, test, deployment.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize performance in development and operational environments.
