Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration seeks a Principal Software Engineer to join the C2BMC regional applications team in Colorado Springs. You will design, develop, and maintain Java/J2EE software, work across multiple disciplines, and support integration and testing for mission-critical systems.

The role requires a current Secret clearance, strong OO development skills, Linux experience, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with occasional

Qualifications

• Current, active in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance at time of application.
• Experience with Java/J2EE or other OO development (C++ desired).
• Linux-based enterprise application development experience (Windows also desired).
• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, and configuration management.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; able to work in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java/J2EE software for C2BMC Regional Applications.
• Provide specialized expertise across multiple systems and customer needs.
• Analyze and support software products, including testing and deployment.
• Develop OS-level applications and services to enable mission capabilities.
• Design, code, test, and implement tools to improve automation and efficiency.
• Interface with systems engineering, integration, test, cyber, and operations groups to resolve issues.
• Support integration and test activities for new capabilities and deployments.
• Maintain currency with evolving tech and document designs and tests.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous process improvement.
