Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration seeks a Software Engineer (26-423) to join the Colorado Springs team. You will develop Java/J2EE (and possibly C++) software for the C2BMC program, in a Unix/Linux environment, collaborating in an Agile setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related field and a current Secret clearance. On-site work is required with no remote options, and relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 2 years of experience; or Master’s with 0 years; or 6 years experience in lieu of degree
• Active Secret security clearance at time of application
• Java development experience for C2BMC in Colorado Springs, CO
• Knowledge of coding standards, configuration management, and disciplined development workflows
• Experience with Java/J2EE and/or C++ in Unix/Linux environments
• Understanding of Use Cases and SysML diagrams
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, code, maintain, debug, and configure enterprise software applications using Java/J2EE (and possibly C++)
• Provide analysis and technical support for systems software, including problem resolution and testing
• Work from specifications and SysML/Use Case artifacts to develop or modify OS and mission software
• Develop software for Unix/Linux environments following standard engineering practices
• Assist with benchmarking, troubleshooting, and documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve problems and improve reliability
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes
