Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in Colorado Springs is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (26-266) to support the C2BMC program. Based on site, you will contribute to software systems engineering for Scrum teams, perform in-depth analyses, and help shape software products from specification through documentation.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, a solid background in systems engineering and software development, and experience with tools like Git, Jira, and

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, System Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s with 3 years; or 9 years of experience as an alternative to a degree.
• Active DoD Secret clearance at start is required.
• Strong systems engineering knowledge applied to product solutions.
• Experience in an integrated team with systems, software, and specialty engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop software systems engineering products for the Scrum Team.
• Provide in-depth analysis and support for systems software products.
• Support systems software configurations and debugging activities.
• Develop operating system applications from specifications.
• Assist with design, coding, testing, and documentation of programs.
• Translate system requirements into software-level requirements with SEIT.
• Develop use cases and sequences with SEIT to drive CONOPS and interfaces.
• Create or update system external interfaces documentation.
• Assist with proposals and software design at product level.
• Possess flexibility to align SE and Software roles within the V model.
