Job summary

Wolfoods is seeking an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership role at our rural summer camp program. This on-site, live-in position oversees all prep and production for a designated day part, manages staff, and enforces allergen safety standards.

The role requires 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role, ServSafe Allergens certification, strong leadership and problem-solving skills, and willingness to live on-site and work a demanding 6‑day, 70-hour week.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional/batch cooking.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date (company-sponsored).
• Strong leadership, cooking, ability to navigate iPad, versatile ingredients, identify Big 9 allergens, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Oversee operational flow, portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking, and timely meal service.
• Strictly manage food allergy protocols and maintain top Health Department sanitation standards.
• Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting.
• Liaise between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
